STOP PRESS
To celebrate the ongoing success story of the REME Museum and its forthcoming Golden Anniversary in February 2008, all members of the Arborfield Old Boys Association are cordially invited to visit the museum during the months of December 07 and January 08 (all entry costs waived). December will see the last month of the ‘Souvenirs’ temporary exhibition displaying some of the artefacts normally hidden away in one of the museum’s stores. These include such attractions as General Ritter Von Thoma’s goggles, Hitler’s chair covers and Mussolini’s boots taken from a statue in Tripoli Harbour at the end of WW2. In January we plan to put on a temporary exhibition of David Rowland’s sketches, paintings and prints. This will be his first exhibition and a must see for your diary. It is also recommended that you take the opportunity to view the recently opened James Johnston Room (Electronics collection) and Armourer’s Hall displaying part of the museum’s acclaimed small arms collection. All in all an ideal opportunity to visit your museum. For those visiting in December it will be an ideal time to snap up those last minute Christmas presents, perhaps a REME watch or REME 2008 diary (ring 01189763223 for whats hot this Christmas)
Happy Christmas everyone
